Antique silver French Cross of Lorraine locket in sterling silver. The Cross of Lorraine is often associated with Saint Joan of Arc, who was from Lorraine. After the incorporation of a great part of Lorraine to Germany following the 1870 war, the Cross of Lorraine became a symbol of memory and resistance. The front of the loop is stamped with a French silver Tête de Sanglier hallmark. The Tête de Sanglier is a registered French punch mark in the shape of a boar’s head. The locket is hinged at the bottom and has a snap closure at the top.
